In a time of almost ubiquitous digital connection and constant availability more and more people are reporting chronic or at least sporadic feelings of loneliness and social isolation. This is such a pressing matter that the British Government appointed the world’s first Minister for loneliness in 2018. However this is not an issue unique to the the United Kingdom. Many countries are facing problems due to the increased  prevalence of loneliness in the population, with high proportions of people all over the world reporting feeling lonely sometimes, often, or  even all of the time. 

Loneliness also doesn’t seem to discriminate when it comes to age. What many think of being a problem that mainly arises in higher age, seems to be present in the lives of many middle-aged and young people too. Some sources even indicate, that there is an increase of loneliness especially in young people. Others suggest that there is an increase in loneliness in people between 30 and 70 years of age. 

The presence of loneliness in different age groups is especially alarming considering the association of it with a large number of negative health outcomes. Feelings of loneliness are connected to worse emotional wellbeing and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, burnout syndrome, substance abuse, eating disorders and suicidal ideation. There is even research suggesting the odds of developing depression is doubled in adults that report feeling lonely often. 

Loneliness is not only related to worse emotional wellbeing but also to negative physical outcomes. Perceived or actual social isolation are also associated with physical health issues like cardiovascular disease, stroke, higher mortality, type 2 diabetes and cancer. 

In summary loneliness can affect people of all ages, especially young people and can have far reaching consequences for their wellbeing. Anyone can benefit mentally and physically from having enough meaningful connections with people that they share common interests with. 

Therefore in an age of growing loneliness and disconnect our mission at Vivamos is to provide a space for people to forge high quality social interactions. That's why we built a platform for our users to find their people based on common interests and activities in a real-life setting. With this we hope to facilitate a communal solution to an all too common problem. **Think of it as a Ministry of connection**!

Ministry of Connection 

Ever scroll through a feed packed with other people's lives and feel like you're on the sidelines? It's a weird feeling. You can see what hundreds of "friends" are up to, but when you actually want to grab a coffee, find someone for that new climbing gym, or get a board game night going, you're met with silence. It's like being in a crowded room where no one is really talking to each other. We're watching lives being lived online instead of actually living our own.

That feeling is exactly why we started **Vivamos**.

Honestly, this didn't start with a business plan or a market analysis. It started with a very real, very human frustration. We looked around and asked ourselves: what if technology could help us get into the world, not escape from it?

The name, **Vivamos**, means "Let's live" in Spanish. It's not just a brand; it’s our entire mission. It’s an invitation to push back against passively watching life go by. We’re not just building another app; we’re trying to build a tool that gets you out from behind the screen.

Our goal is to finally close the gap between the things you want to do and actually doing them. Here’s how:
- Stop Saying "Someday." We all have that list of things we’d “love to try sometime.” Vivamos is designed to take that vague intention and turn it into a concrete plan: "I'm going this Saturday at 2 PM." It’s about overcoming that initial inertia.

- Find Your People. For Real. We help you connect with people who share your specific interests—whether it's a deep love for '80s sci-fi, a passion for early morning hikes, or a quest to find the best tacos in the city. These are the foundations of real community, not just a list of followers.

- Stumble Into Adventure. We want to help you discover the spontaneous, amazing things happening right around you—the pop-up art show, the pickup soccer game, the neighborhood potluck you didn't know about.

Here’s a strange thing for an app to say: we want you to close our app. Our success isn't measured by how much time you spend scrolling on our platform. Success for us is a new friendship that was formed, a passion you just discovered, or a great memory you made last weekend. Our favorite metrics are the stories you'll tell later.

We believe life is meant to be participated in, not just observed. We believe the best moments are messy, unscripted, and shared face-to-face.

This is our attempt to get back to that. Back to each other, back to our communities, and back to the simple, vibrant act of living.
